Fee for Service Program

The Healthcare environment in America is changing. The need for affordable access to healthcare is growing daily. Moore Free & Charitable Clinic (MFCC), with the strong financial and in-kind support from private citizens and the medical community, has provided health care and medication assistance for the uninsured since 2004 for no charge. We have managed the health care for nearly 4000 Moore County residents. While the Moore County community has been most benevolent, unfortunately, we cannot continue the free model. In response to the increasing demand and rising health care cost, Moore Free & Charitable Clinic will begin a Fee for Service Program effective November 11, 2013.

This means that there will be a discounted sliding scale fee for patient visits to the clinic. Medication assistance and blood pressure checks will continue to be free. In the past our medical care has been limited to persons whose income was at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). As part of our new operating model, we will be able to offer healthcare to persons whose income is at or below 200% of the FPL. The new sliding scale will be as low as $5 and no higher than $35 per visit.
The following examples can be used to help determine what your fee may be going forward. If you are an existing patient or have an appointment in the near future, you may call the Clinic to find out how much you will be charged. New patients will be advised of the amount they will pay for service at time of certification. Your fee will be collected at the time of check in. At this time, we are only able to accept cash but we are working to be able to accept credit/debit card payments in the future.

• A household of 2 with annual household income of $15,510 or less pays a discounted fee of $5
• A household of 5 with annual household income of $27,570 or less, pays a discounted fee of $5
• A household of 3 with annual household income of $24,412 pays a discounted fee of $15
• A household of 4 with annual household income of $29,437 pays a discounted fee of $15
• A household of 2 with annual household income of $20,628 pays a discounted fee of $25
• A household of 5 with annual household income of $36,668 pays a discounted fee of $25
• A household of 2 with annual household income of $23,420 pays a discounted fee of $30
• A household of 4 with annual household income of $41,448 pays a discounted fee of $35

While we would have preferred to maintain our free-based medical services, changing times, rising demand, and increased medical costs require this unfortunate change. MFCC will continue to provide high quality primary care to its patients as a healthier you is a healthier and more productive community.
