Recent News at the Clinic
1 IN 8K DONATIONTony Price (at right), CEO of the Moore Free & Charitable Clinic, meets with two representatives of FirstHealth of the Carolinas to accept a check for the clinic’s share of proceeds from the 2016 1 in 8K – Moore for the Cure. Pictured with him are Chris Miller, administrative director of FirstHealth Community Health Services, (at left); and Debbie McGahey, of The Foundation of FirstHealth’s Cancer CARE Fund. The $6,653 going to the clinic will fund mammography scholarships for the clinic’s underserved patients. The Foundation of FirstHealth and the Susan K. Komen Foundation received equal amounts that will also assist with breast cancer awareness programs. More than 450 runners participated in the 1 in 8K, which was held Sept. 10 in the Village of Pinehurst.

Moore Free Care Clinic (MFCC) is pleased and excited to announce the
hiring of Mckenzie Herbst, FNP-C, as our new Clinic
Director/Physician Extender. Mckenzie is currently a Nurse
Practitioner in family medicine with Seagrove Medical Clinic in
Seagrove, NC. Mckenzie earned a Master and Bachelor of Science in
nursing from East Carolina University and is a member of the North
Carolina Nursing Association, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor
Society of Nursing, and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Mckenzie served as a Registered Nurse with Home Health, Hospice, and
Community Health from 2004 – 2010 and began her career as a nurse
practitioner in July of 2010. Mckenzie is from Moore County and has
been employed with various local medical practices since 2007. She
has experience in providing care to patients in many different
settings including family practice, skilled nursing facilities, and
urgent and emergent care.
Please join MFCC in welcoming Ms. Mckenzie Herbst to MFCC as our new Clinic Director! Mckenzie will join MFCC on February 16, 2015.

NCCF Roffe GrantMoore Free Care Clinic was a recipient of a $10,000 support from the John W. Roffe and Marjorie A. Roffe Endowment for Moore County which is administered by the North Carolina Community Foundation. A total of $85,000 was awarded to non-profits in Moore County.
The NCCF partners with 60 affiliate foundations in 67 counties throughout North Carolina, including the Moore County Community Foundation, to provide resource allocation and community assistance.
Grants such as this are not as prevalent as in the past which makes this award very special and much appreciated. The monies will be used to continue serving the 17,000 uninsured adult residents of Moore County.
