Moore Free & Charitable Clinic invites you to our 20th anniversary gala dinner dance.
Date: Friday, April 12, 2024
Time: 5:30 a.m.– 9:30 p.m.
Location: The Fair Barn, Pinehurst, NC
Since April, 2004, Moore Free & Charitable Clinic has helped make Moore County a healthier place for all. Let's celebrate this history and look forward to more good things to come.
Enjoy a wonderful evening of dancing to the music of Tom Bernett's party band, The Carolina Moondogs. Elliott's Catering will serve passed appetizers, a buffet dinner with dessert, plus a beer and wine bar. During the band intermission, there will be a tribute to our late founder Dr. David Bruton, followed by a live auction with some exciting vacation stays and experiences for you to bid on!
Tickets for the gala are $150 per person.
All proceeds from the gala and auction will support two special projects in honor of Dr. Bruton's memory -- creation of a new benevolent care fund to help patients with unexpected financial burdens, and strengthening the Dr. H. David Bruton Samaritan Endowment Fund.
As always, your participation helps support quality health care for our less fortunate neighbors in Moore County.

At our best attended event ever, over 200 guests enjoyed a fabulous brunch hosted by the Carolina Hotel. The Hearts and Hands Brunch is our way of honoring the compassionate hearts and skilled hands of our wonderful staff, providers and volunteers. We could not do it without them! Long time volunteer Alexandra Ferguson (pictured at right) was recognized with the Above and Beyond Award, for her diligent and loyal support of our mission.
The keynote presentation was given by Dr. Sharon Harrell, DDS, MPH, FAGD, the director of the FirstHealth of the Carolinas dental centers. She also leads FirstHealth's Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, which seeks to ensure all patients receive compassionate care in a manner respecting their individual needs and differences. A video of her presentation about the need for oral health services for the Clinic's patient population is below.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a great success, including the Carolina Hotel!

To celebrate his 50 years in the music business, popular band leader Tom Bernett, husband of Clinic Board Chair Mary Lou Bernett, hosted a fundraising event at the Fair Barn in Pinehurst. This gala featured appetizers and a sumptuous buffet dinner by Elliott's Catering. Music was provided by Tom's two bands, Swing Street Little Big Band and the Carolina Moondogs. Best of all, our fund-a-need auction exceeded all expectations for raising money to build a dental clinic to serve Moore County residents who lack access to routine oral health care. What a generous and caring community we live in!! Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!! Please check out the photo gallery below.
