At our best attended event ever, over 200 guests enjoyed a fabulous brunch hosted by the Carolina Hotel. The Hearts and Hands Brunch is our way of honoring the compassionate hearts and skilled hands of our wonderful staff, providers and volunteers. We could not do it without them! Long time volunteer Alexandra Ferguson (pictured at right) was recognized with the Above and Beyond Award, for her diligent and loyal support of our mission.
The keynote presentation was given by Dr. Sharon Harrell, DDS, MPH, FAGD, the director of the FirstHealth of the Carolinas dental centers. She also leads FirstHealth's Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, which seeks to ensure all patients receive compassionate care in a manner respecting their individual needs and differences. A video of her presentation about the need for oral health services for the Clinic's patient population is below.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a great success, including the Carolina Hotel!

After a long hiatus due to COVID, Moore Free & Charitable Clinic is pleased to announce that Dining in the Pines is back again this Fall! We can’t wait to enjoy wonderful food and to renew fellowship with our dear friends. Each Chef’s Table dinner will feature special multi-course menus with wine pairings, created by our area’s most innovative chefs. A past Dining in the Pines guest said it best, "This evening was one of my Top 10 culinary experiences ever!"
And if you really want to focus on the libations, we have added a wine tasting event, Wines in the Pines. Our hosts at Triangle Wine Company will feature affordable wines (sparkling, red and white) specially selected to complement your upcoming holiday dining and entertainment. As always, your participation helps support quality health care for our less fortunate neighbors in Moore County.
To celebrate his 50 years in the music business, popular band leader Tom Bernett, husband of Clinic Board Chair Mary Lou Bernett, hosted a fundraising event at the Fair Barn in Pinehurst. This gala featured appetizers and a sumptuous buffet dinner by Elliott's Catering. Music was provided by Tom's two bands, Swing Street Little Big Band and the Carolina Moondogs. Best of all, our fund-a-need auction exceeded all expectations for raising money to build a dental clinic to serve Moore County residents who lack access to routine oral health care. What a generous and caring community we live in!! Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!! Please check out the photo gallery below.
